Empowering rural communities through sustainable livelihoods, women’s empowerment, poverty reduction, and inclusive development.
Society for Welfare Operational Research & Development (SWORD) is a non-profit organization established in 2001 in Patna, Bihar. The organization works for the welfare of poor and vulnerable communities, especially women, children, Dalit, tribal, and backward-class families in rural areas. SWORD focuses on sustainable livelihoods, women’s empowerment, health, sanitation, skill development, and community institution building. Through SHGs, Farmers Clubs, FPOs, and awareness programs, the organization promotes inclusive and sustainable rural development in Bihar and Jharkhand.
